Hi, My son received a PS4 for Christmas and immediately set it up in our basement den on a Sharp LC-60E78UN. The TV was purchased new in 2011. Judging from the time spent down there and the noises that came out, it was working perfectly. Then it stopped - a series of green lines across the screen, then a blank TV. No snow, no text, nothing. We've tried using all four different HDMI ports, then changed out to a new, high quality HDMI cable, and re-tried all four ports, with the same result - a blank screen. Hooked the PS4 up to another TV and it works fine. Sony's help desk was ineffective and uninterested - they couldn't fix it with a Safe Mode reset, changing out the HDMI or by changing the screen resolution (changed on another TV to either 480 or 720, then restart). The problem was off the end of thier checklist, so it's not their problem. Sharp's help desk was less helpful - walked me through a hard system reset, then concluded it was the cord (which works fine on another TV). They then told me (via a model/ serial number search) the unit was built in 2000, and wasn't compatible. Well, that's not true, it WAS working and the four HDMI ports on it weren't produced until after 2004. Am I having a software problem? Was there an update that made this perfectly working system crash? Please help. Thanks! I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
